Hi, in the dino and dragon thread, I noticed me and some others thought that if dragons were to exist, then why not from outer space. I mean, to everything we know about dragons, they would have come from here, But whats to say thats just what humans could portray them as this worldly? How do we know they just assumed what the dragon was? I myself believe in some sort of alien presence, as I find it too far fetched that out of the millions of planets, only this one is populated, but as for dragons, I have not a clue. What do you guys think?

Well my favorate idea is that the dragons came from outer space and our an intelligent species who disdain technology and have somehow evolved a way to fly through space with out such neccesaties as oxygen.
However i think this is unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. I think the dragons in myth relate more to a earth bound dragon than one from another world.

I agree in that I beleive there has to be alien life forms out there and agree that the universe is too big for just us to exist.
I too like the idea of dragons coming from outer space. I guess the fact that no sightings have been reported for a long time could just be the fact that they do not need anything from our planet, do not see us as a threat to their existence and have far more important places to go than earth...

I don't really think they come from outer space as they don't really have the sort of hands like us that could create tools and technology, which would be needed for a space ship, (although if the earth representation was wrong maybe they might have.) The other option as Lex put it was that they could just fly through space without the need of oxygen, but then how could they go for that long without being able to hunt food, they could take some with them, but the amount of time they would need to be in space to get here would be far to long to take any food with them. But if they were to come from outer space maybe they came with other beings who were able to make tools and ships etc. I do believe that there is other life out there though

Anything is possible And therefore nothing is impossible. In which case a dragon could fly faster than the speed of light and travel to Earth from another universe in the less time than it takes to make a cup of tea! That would give the disadvantage that they'd have no excuse for being late for work in the mornings though...
