I still think dragons sleep in their element. You wouldn't find a frost dragon near a volcano, or a european in a glacial cave.

Unless they happen to be on holiday... I'd expect to see dragons sleeping close to their preferred habitat. I do believe in the existence of elemental dragons, as well as physical ones, and feel they would sleep in their chosen element whether that be fire, air, water or earth.

I think they might sleep near it, but i think most dragons would just curl up in a cave or something similar

Now i personally believe that were dragons to have existed they would have been a creature like any other. With an anatomy which would not defy science and yet still with the impressive figure to mystify the imaginations of any who saw them.
This being the case i dont believe there was ever a "frost dragon" or a "fire dragon" i believe there would have been variants in the races, similar to humans but not based on elements.
I also feel that like us the varying species would have a favoured natural habitat. Therefore the slender chinese dragon would of course the chinese climate due and its body would be slim and agile to cope with the heat and rains.
The european dragon would have to be fatter to store excess food for the winter. And so in that respect you would have a dragon for the cold and a dragon for the heat. Thats as far as my belief of elemental dragons go though im afraid.
Though i love the idea of elemntal dragons and they certainly appear in my book.
