Just curious really, what are your thoughts on how Dragons have been portrayed in movies?
I personally loved Dragonheart because it was the first time i'd seen a dragon on screen looking life like (not like a man in a suit or a model) and similar to how i imagine dragons to look and move, looking back on the film it may not be as good as i remember but i still really like it, i think it was tainted by Dragonheart 2 with the cutsie "disney like" dragon.
I think my favourite dragons for pure menace and how i'd like a viscious dragon to behave have to be the ones in Reign of Fire, pity that the movie is all gung ho flag waving Americans trying to save the day as usual but the look and feel of the actual dragons was perfect for me because i like sleek dragons
Now we have Dragon Wars which has a really good looking serpent style creature and other dragons but it looks like another gung ho movie with Dragons just portrayed as none thinking monsters! I've only seen the trailer so can't really comment on the actual film or how the dragons act and move.
I've only mentioned modern movies here as i'm at work and shouldn't be on here really so don't have much time .
What are everyone elses thoughts and what whould you actually really like to see in a movie dragon?

Another good question.
I also liked the one in Dragonheart though i felt he was a bit too soft and cuddely for a reptiallian serpentine creature and perhaps a bit to small as well.
The dragons in Reign of fire were superb. Had they given them more intelligence they would not have been too far off my minds image of the dragons.
I liked the dragons in The Last Dragon. Although that was a pretend documentary rather than a film, they were very well done. (and it has a fight between a tyranasaurus and a dragon ;D)
The dragons in Harry potter GOF were well done but i think i prefer the reign of fire ones.
Dragon slayer depicted an evil dragon very well and although they didnt have the computer science we have now they did a fantastic job using mental imagery.
I personally wasnt to keen on the dragon in Eragon. Too small and lacking in independance made her seem a bit wishy washy to me.
Thats all i can think of right now.

Yeah i like the ones in the last dragon Would you believe i've not watched Harry Potter GOF or Eragon you, i've been avoiding them! I've had Eragon on DVD for ages but just can't get myself in the mood to watch it. The voice of the dragon in Dragonheart... Sean Connery... one of the only actors i know who can play any part with the same accent an English spy, a Dragon and a Russian submarine commander and many more LOL

Yes jen we watched Reighn of fire during one of my operations. Its the one with the English in a base and the Americans come and they say "if there is one thing i hate more than dragons, its bloody americans"
Note, i have nothing against Americans i just thought that was a little funny.
Eragon is not a great film in my opinion, its far too rushed and if you have seen Dungeons and Dragons (the film) its more similar to that than anything else of that genre.

I have to say I agree about the film reign of fire, they could have done so much more with the plot but wasted it.
Marv please don't bother with Eragon can I say Dissapointed! A terrible movie made to cash in on the success of the book.
Hee hee the first dragon film I saw was pete's Dragon.. now THAT is a disney dragon for you.
