I'm getting married next year and me and the other half are struggling to find a song for our first dance. We have found plently of songs that we both like but none of them seem to have the appropiate words. Any suggestions would be good.

Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy My sister got married last year and she had this song playing as she walked... I mean rode down the isle, maybe that would be nice for a first song? Oh and congratulations btw

Thank you DiamondTear.
Thanks for the suggestion. Sure Claire would like it but a bit soppy for me..
I did suggest Nothing Else Matters by Metallica but Claire had never heard of it and not sure she is too keen...

I'm listening to it now, and as good as it is, I personally don't think it's much of a wedding song, its a bit... dark, but depends what you both like

I did play it to Claire and I think she in agreement with you. Likes the song but not sure it's really a wedding song...

Top 10 Wedding Songs
Is your favourite here? The final Top 10 went like this:
Aerosmith - Don't Wanna Miss A Thing Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (I Do It For You) Lonestar - Amazed Shania Twain - You're Still The One Shania Twain - From This Moment Van Morrison - Have I Told You Lately James Blunt - You're Beautiful Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply Robbie Williams - Angels Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You Is old-fashioned best when it comes to your first dance song? Only three of the top 10 wedding songs date from the past few years: James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful', Robbie's 'Angels' and Savage Garden's 'Truly, Madly, Deeply'.

actually, the best idea you can have for the song is to let your missus choose it. Then accept. Even if you hate it, you tell her it's the perfect choice.
Start married life as you mean to go on ;D

If I leave it to Claire then I think it would be KC and Jo Jo - All My Life or Mario Wynams..

that's fine gleep, all you do is say "what a lovely choice my dear! I couldn't have chosen a better song myself."

Why don't you both write down a list of 5 or 10 songs and any that are the same on both your lists use and maybe gleep could put some down that you think she will like to, hehe!

Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up! Although in all honesty, I agree with Diamond Tear here. Both write out a list and choose from which ones match. If none match, you're screwed!

I think if none match you should just give up and let her choose hehe!

I agree with DiamondTear's initial comment about making a list each and seeing if any match.
