Awesome series and I definately reccomend reading. There are 11 books with number 12 due in 2009. I have only read 4 so far but loved them all and when I get time I will continue the journey..

Gleep, the Wheel of Time is indeed awesome. You'll have to persuade yourself to continue reading sometimes, since the action can get a little slow... However, overall, it is worth continuing through the series. I've read all 11 that are out, and am definitely going to get the 12th when it comes out. Although he's not actually a dragon, a character does appear in it called the Dragon. He's a human. With a sword. Which shows how little Robert Jordan has studied dragons. *waits for Dariune to discuss the obscure human-with-a-sword-dragon, only slightly less common than the brick-dragon*

In my opinion the 1st four books of WoT were exceptional. The books did start to get boring after that. The story is an epic though and its certainly well worth the read. No its ok KnightofRoma, there arent any dragons like that.

Lex informed me yesterday of the very sad news that Robert Jordan died a few days ago. To make matters worse he was half way through the last book in the series.... RIP to an amazing author.

Apparently he told his family all major plots of the last book so maybe it will get written but not sure if it should or not.
Could end up tarnishing a great series but then everyone who has read these books want to see what the final outcome is.

It's been confirmed on a Wheel of Time Forum that there will be a 12th book
"Jordan had been dictating outlines and plot lines and everything else related to the final book. He used the phrase "army of writers" to talk about the people that were converting those tapes into written form.
It would appear that the final book will still be published, I'm sure details regarding that will work themselves out. So please be patient (as challenging as that might be), and for now let's focus on Jordan's life, writing, and the joy he brought to us."

Wow, I heard he was sick and only had a couple years in him, but had no idea he just passed. RIP indeed. I suppose it is insensitive to care about the book at this stage, but.... I hope it all turns out well. The last to books had started picking up pace again and it will be great to know what happens. Im guessing good prevails

It is a tough one. Part of me wants them to finish the book in memory to the legend that was Robert Jordan and the other part of me is worried that it will just tarnish an awesome series. I guess all we can do is wait and See
