whoever says this forum is serious needs to read threads like this ;D I travel round Loch Ness at least once a year (still not made it this year though ) just avoid the tourist traps at Drumnadrochit, only one of the Loch Ness centers there is worth a look around, and make sure you go up the east side of the Loch because you can get nearer to the water and there aren't that many people who go down the east side other than locals, the tourists get took down west side of the Loch which is nice but you just can't get near to it! Personally i say it's all a myth but one that should never be proven to be so! it makes the area some much needed money right, back to to the Lex is wonderful thread

Thanks for the advice Marvin. I am still thinking about organising this for summer next year for those interested. I will also be organising a trip for a limited amount of people to Newgrange in Ireland. (thought we would start close to home for the DT trips.) See we arent always serious Yes back to the Lex is wonderful thread ... so any votes for me?

No, I wasn't being silly. Loch Morar, near to Mallaig, is said to be the home of a creature similar to Nessie. Local legend tells that a sighting of Morag will always coincide with a death of someone in the MacDonald clan. The other bonus, is that Loch Morar doesn't have the same tourist problems that Loch Ness has. (mainly because nobody knows of Morag)

There used to be a good site for Morag but i can't find it anymore must have been removed :/ quite a few Lochs are said to be the home of 'monters' Loch ness being the most common, Morag is the 2nd best known but not by too many! other lochs include Awe, Linnhe, Oich & Shiel and there are more worth investigating

OK done a very quick search since I cant find my notes: Loch Arkaig - www.unknownexplorers.com/locharkaigmonster.php similar to the Loch Ness Monster Loch Awe – this is supposed to be bigger and more vicious than the loch ness monster but since I cant find my notes on it I cant say too much more, plus there is very little mention online that I can find in a quick search! I stayed by Loch Awe a couple of months ago but didn’t see any thing Loch Linnhe – Loch Linnhe is huge and opens into the sea so sighting to me are more likely to be seals or dolphin straying a little too far in! it also links to loch ness via the Caledonian canal Loch Lochy (called Lizzy) – The sister monster of nessie plus this is the 3rd best known of the monsters as far as I know scottishbigcats.co.uk/lochlochy.htmLoch Lomond – this one I’ve never found much about which is odd because it’s the largest loch (length wise) and you’d think there would be more about it! scottishbigcats.co.uk/crypto4.htmLoch Maree – (called Muc-sheilch – Pronounced mook Helluch) – can’t find much more in a quick search Loch Morar (called Morag) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morag_%28loch_monster%29 & the more interesting www.cfz.org.uk/expeditions/morag/morag.htm possibly the most interesting of the lot Loch Ness – we all know this one! Loch Oich (Called Wee Oichy) – “Maned, horse- or dog-like head, serpentine body, two humps, black skin, snakelike neck. Said to have drowned a curious child who climbed on its back for a ride. Named in 1961 when hoaxers planted a fake monster in the loch for photographs. Loch Oich is connnected to the southern end of Loch Ness by the River Oich.” Loch Quoich (Called Lizzie) - www.unknownexplorers.com/lochquoichmonster.phpLoch Shiel – (called seileag) – “Seileag was chronicled by Father Cyril Dieckhoff of the Benedictine Abbey. His books recorded from 1905, until his death in 1970. Loch Shiel is Scotland's fifth largest loch. It is 17 miles long and can be from 100 yards to a mile wide. It has a depth of 420 feet. Father Cyril interviewed Ian Crookback, Ewan MacIntosh, and two young boys that have seen unknown things in the lochs. They all reported that whatever they saw had three humps that showed above the water's surface. One of the times they were on a mail steamer named Clan Ranald.” Also found a few more listed here which I haven’t looked at yet - www.fortunecity.com/roswell/chaney/627/scotland.htm
