Hi, Just wanted to chat about the gorgon for a bit. I always thought the gorgon had a much more religious meaning than many thought, because think about it, the avarage gorgon myth was that it had the power of when someone looked at it, mthey turned to stone. This is quite like the judgement, as the gorgon being the one to punish the sinners, it compelled the sinners to look into it's eyes, and seeing their pure evil and darkness, would turn them to stone. A bit like the egyptian (Though I don't know egyptian myth very well) They had a rite where when a person died, they were judged, if they passed their spirit got to live it's life in heavon, if they failed a dog crocodile beast would chomp them up. this is simalar, if they passed, the gorgon would not compel them to look at it, if they failed, he would. Many ancient traditions and peoples had a hard worship for the gorgon, or fear or fascination of it, as they maid many artworks, pots and other basic things with the gorgon on it. But thats just my views, what are yours?

It depends, she is never the only Gorgon. In the main myths of medusa, she is the younger of the 3 Gorgon sisters, she being of child of doom and death. But there are many other tales, where the Gorgon is a species, slightly like the Dragon may be, instead of being a single creature.
