Ok, let's get to know each other, what kinds of music are you guys all into? Myself, I'm into all kinds of heavy metal, especially British heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. I also enjoy bands like Dream Theater, Metallica, Rush and Megadeth. The list goes on and on and on. Oh and Dragonforce, rather relevantly to this website! Let's see what all you guys like too.

if this keeps going on like this, people will think we are the same person... Iron Maiden - seen them play twice. Judas Priest - only seen them play once. AC/DC, Scorpions, Metallica, Queensryche and many more Dragonforce... saw a video of them playing at Download this year... they're cool

I'll listen to a bit... I'm not to big on the R&B and hip hop movement... rock mainly things like:
Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Metallica, Megadeth. I like some other stuff too like Linkin Park (Their new album is amazing), Kaiser Chiefs, Explosions In The Sky and Bloodhound Gang.

Lord only knows why you'd want to go and buy Linkin Parks new album. It's awful, and uninventive, their problem is their first album was so good that they just can't live up to it again, so therefore all their new stuff sounds crap.
Razorlight, well don't even get me started. They don't even deserve a mention.

Ita all about individual choice. If we all liked the same things then where would the fun in that be. I don't particularly like Iron Maiden but respect them and love the fact that they have stayed away from mainstream music but still have a huge fan base.

Ok, you got me there. I can respect some of these bands and what they do. But for a couple of guys to sit there with guitars saying "Ooh I know, I know what... 3 chords? Let's make an album of songs that sound identical and become famous" is just ridiculous. Music used to be about what you wanted to do. Now all these bands are just trying to conform to become famous, it just doesn't make any sense to me.
Each to their own I suppose... *shrugs*

Careful Haydena - Nirvana only ever seemed to play 3 chords and there will be no bad-mouthing Nirvana! The beauty of Nirvana was that although none of them played anything very complex, they put simple stuff together to make something new and interesting. Most bands don't though...

No badmouthing Nirvana? Aww...
Everyone says how Kurt Cobain was the greatest thing since sliced bread. He simply wasn't. Yes he could put together a few chords and make it sound alright. Yes he could uses pinch harmonics in his solos, but he wasn't brilliant.
All this hype is just because he commited suicide, just like he wanted to happen...

Age has nothing to do with it.
If he really cared about his fans and wanted to keep going with his music then he wouldn't have killed himself. It's simple.
I don't like him at all as a person or a musician, but that's just my opinion. He never did anything for this world and decided to keep his status as it was by killing himself. He knew that he could only go downhill after Nirvana so ending his life there would mean that he would stay a legend.
