Do you write about dragons in your novels? Yeah, it's actually dragon centered. I'll see about posting some of it*. A dragon is actually one of the main characters. It's titled "Dragonslayers". * Translation: I'll have to see if I can still locate, I think it's about three feet deep in junk on the left side of my room.

Aha... knew I'd find it eventually.
Prologue: The war begins
As the sun descended below the horizon, the forest's daily activities came to an end. The birds returned to their nests, turtles to their stream, squirrels to their homes. The nocturnal animals began to emerge, bats disappearing into the night to hunt insects, owls to search for and perhaps catch some careless mouse. All was quiet and peaceful, even at the nearby palace. At the river's edge, a raccoon was busily washing a stolen ear of corn when it stopped, sniffed the night air. Something was wrong. Clutching the corn, it began to climb a tree. A dark shadow passed in front of the moon. Terror, fear, and a smoldering anger emanated from it. Dropping the corn in its fright, the raccoon raced to its burrow. The shadow passed. The raccoon poked its head out to see if the thing was gone. With an earth-shattering roar, a massive creature blasted into view. Fire spewed from its mouth as it lit the castle aflame. As the villagers came running out screaming, the dragon jerked its head forward, sending fireballs streaming through the night, each exploding as it impacted the ground and buildings. Five warriors clustered atop the keep, and the raccoon recognized the royal standard on their armor. They fired a hail of arrows at the dragon, piercing its wings. The dragon roared, but was forced to land. Throwing away their bows, the warriors drew an assortment of axes and swords and charged forward. Brilliant flashes indicated magic at use. One by one the dragon torched or tore apart each and every one of them without any apparent injury. Until the last one stabbed it in the unarmored side with a massive two-handed sword. The dragon reared, screaming, before blasting the man. But the damage had been done. Even as the dragon took off laboriously into the night, the raccoon could tell that the wound was serious, perhaps even deadly. The raccoon retreated into the forest, leaving the town to burn.
Back at the palace, the last of the knights lay dying on the ground. The alarm bells were still tolling in the distance as he raised himself up on one elbow. A man came rushing out of the keep, his royal robes flapping behind him. The knight tried to speak, but the prince hushed him, kneeling at his side. "Who did this?" the prince asked softly. "My lord, it was a dragon... it killed the others... I have failed you..." "No," said the prince softly, looking into the horizon. "You did well. Rest in peace, knowing that the dragon will not survive the wound you inflicted." As the knight slumped back onto the ground, the prince straightened. "So, dragon, you try to kill me?" He rubbed his forefinger and thumb together, dragon blood still on them. "Your time will come. The end of your race fast approaches, and you have no prayer of victory." Using the blood, he drew the symbol ยด on the knight's forehead. "May your soul find rest, Dragonslayer."

Thats fantastic Falconer. You have put a lot of effort into that and your writing style has an enchanting sense of urgency.
I like it. When the time calles i may post the prologue for Gaia story.

Thank you. The full story is complete, but finding a publisher take's FOREVER. *sigh* Yes it really is hard. But your young so you have plenty of time to get a publisher. And in that time you can be writing more books. You do have a very cinematic style, i like it

Thank you everyone, for your support. *sniffles* I'm touched. *scans Smilies list* we need a crying happy Smiley. doesn't really work. Thee reason why it's rather cinematic is because the entire story came to me as a dream. No, really, I'm not kidding, I had this really long dream three years ago about a team of young warriors who battled the forces of evil alongside a dragon, and have been trying to set it to words since. And anyone who asks nicely here can have a signed copy, assuming you don't care that my signature, or indeed all my handwriting, looks like a drunken epileptic's scrawl. And I look forward to reading your work, Lex, can't wait.

I've read some of lex's work, and it's very good He's rewriting it though, and I read the first copy which was about 88 A4 pages long, and I got really into it and got to the last page, and realized that he hadn't finished that copy and was gonna start from scratch again and I'd have to wait for ages to find out what happened

Falconer if there is anything i can do to help you with what you do then youhave but to ask. You have a talent and there is nothing worse than a talent going to waste. I also would like to think those involved with DT would help others involved with DT. As for my work i would be happy to post the prologue at some point. We shall see. Oh and when the new forum is complete believe me when i say there will be plenty of different smilies. Most of which you will be able to thank our ever hardworking DiamondTear for finding them. Thankyou Diamond
